Our Methodology

Every figure on tafiti traces back to a defined source and processing pipeline. This page outlines how data is collected, processed and maintained.

Company financials

  • We parse published financial statements ourselves — annual and interim reports — and structure them against a canonical metric catalog.
  • We supplement this with established third-party market data providers for coverage and speed.
  • Raw line items are normalised into standard metrics (revenue, net income, EPS and so on) with consistent units in KES and aligned fiscal periods.

Market prices

Daily prices and trading statistics for NSE-listed securities are refreshed each trading day from our market data feeds. Valuation metrics (P/E, market cap, dividend yield) are derived from the latest close and the most recent reported financials.

News, events & economics

Market news is aggregated from vetted sources and tagged to the companies it affects. Economic events and indicators are curated from official releases and provider feeds, with written analysis added by our team.

Updates & refresh

Prices update every trading day. Financial statements are refreshed on a rolling basis as new filings and provider data arrive, and derived metrics recompute automatically after each refresh.

Limitations

  • Figures may be delayed relative to official filings.
  • Historical data can be restated by companies or corrected by providers.
  • Some ratios are estimates where underlying data is incomplete.
  • Always verify against official filings before making financial decisions.
